SUBMISSIONS AT ECKHAUS

Exhibition prospectus

Eckhaus was founded in September 2005 and exhibits artwork by national and international artists and the local community.

Media Any 2D/3D artwork, installations, or performances are welcome at Eckhaus.

Requirements

  1. Current exhibition resume
  2. Typed artist statement pertaining to the work being submitted for consideration.
  3. Annotated slide list or JPEG* image list with your name, artwork title, date, dimensions, and medium(a). *JPEG: images in JPEG format on a CD with files of at least 72 dpi. Maximum pixel dimensions - 600 x 800/ image resolution - 200ppi preferable; maximum file size 500KB. No special viewer applications of any kind should be submitted and each image should be unlocked. Name images as: lastname_firstname_image_number.jpg.

Sales Artwork for sale is preferred. 70% of artwork sold goes to artist and 30% goes to the Eckhaus exhibition operating budget.

Insurance All artwork is insured upon acceptance and receipt at Eckhaus under the Rhode Insurance Agency. Each exihibit is insured up to $20,000. Insurance amount is usually equal to artist commission of 70% of selling price.

Installation The Eckhaus staff curates each exhibition, and exhibitor input is helpful. Exhibitions are typically installed one week in advance of Opening Reception.

Opening reception Receptions are typically held on the Friday that the exhibition opens from 7-9pm and is sponsored by Eckhaus.

Promotion Eckhaus will send a press release to local businesses/newspapers and will design postcard for a membership mailing. Exhibitors are encouraged to deliver postcards to collectors/supporters of their artwork.

Closing Artwork must be removed from Eckhaus at scheduled date/time, as there is no space for storage.
